MY FIRST FORAY INTO WRITING
NYC, 1982. My best friend - Laury Marker - and I are both waitresses/actors and looking for our "big break". This predates YouTube and all that came after. So, what could we do but write ourselves a play?
My Heart Belongs to Daddy was funny and raunchy and - hopefully - made you cry in the end. It was critically acclaimed, and along the way we actually had a Tony Award-winning producer (Dash Epstein) and director (Morton DaCosta). Unfortunately, Mr. DaCosta died of a heart attack before the show made it to Off-Broadway.
